If you could change only ONE thing in the world, what would it be and why?

If I could change only one thing in the world.... I would have to say that I would eradicate poverty. Having grown up in a low income family I have had to face the challenges that living below the poverty line presents. With the holiday season fast approaching most people are concerned with the prospect of what to buy for their friends or family. But for most of us out there that are considered to be low income earners or those below the poverty line the central concern is that of being able to have enough food. My parents have always tried their best to give us the best possible Christmas that they could but for many years we were unable to exchange or receive gifts. Just once I wish that everyone could experience the joy and excitement of giving. For so many people this has become something of a stressful and burdensome experience. Understandablely so as more and more focus has been placed on newer and better forms of entertainment etc. So in closing if I could change only one thing in the world it would be the end to poverty.
